Yep, sounds like a check valve is passing. Also, synchronisation of the carbs plays a part, the lazy pot will smoke more due to the combustion temperature being a bit lower.

Boiled carbs in lemon juice gets the outside quite clean as well .balance was way off left side moving a lot before the right even thinks about it .Hopefully this sorts the smoking also cleaned the check valves in the pump

Did you check the operation of the check valves in the oil pump after you cleaned them?

Swapped oil feeds over made no difference plus bike has a low down misfire but fine in the band .carbs are pwk's

No I never thought about that .How do I do it Pump has to be stripped for that check. I check them with air. If you swapped the feeds over it may take a while to show up. Build up in exhaust etc. Even if a valve is passing completely the flow wont be much at all.

Took the head off this morning and the lhs is cleaner than the rhs , checked the reeds and pistons and all seems ok thinking it was the lhs that was misfiring as it was a lot hotter than rhs , fitted new top end gasket set and gave it a decoke hopefilly this will fix the poor running

I had an issue like this with my 250e four years ago. Eventually cured it by replacing the L/H carb body. Think your issue is deffo due to fueling.

In the head the left side was really clean compared to rhs which had normal coked up look about it thought this may be what the problem was plus left side was a good bit hotter which got me thinking that way , now I think about it , it was using a little water but never gave it a second though as it was such a small amount

Swapped carbs for other pair and misfiring seems to have almost disappeared just a play with pilot settings should see it gone .Other pwk must have a blockage in the passageways
