The edge of the drum should be bare alloy where the brake plate fits, looks painted on the rear wheel there, maybe just the angle of the photo though. Good buy if they are new.

lol i dont no to be honest,all i now is i got the receipt for new wheels,end of the day im chuffed to get the bike after my mate spent ages sourcing bits etc,and a shame he got no time to build it
