ive spent the whole day trying to sort the wiring on the ypvs f2 that im re-building, getting it all re-routed where its meant to go,,, on this ocasion my memory did not serve me well and a forgot the path that everything took "dur" anyhow everything is just about sorted apart from the only bit that has me stuck "the HT coil" and its got me stuck on two simple matters,, firstly picture yourself sitting on the bike with no tank on,,, looking down you can see the coil with the two HT leads pointing towards you,,, does the left lead go to the left plug and the right to the right plug,, or do they go to the opposite way? and second question is the lower tension wires,,, which colours go to the left and right? ?? I know there is a thread on this as I have read it before,, ive had a quick look but cant seem to find it, and im hoping to finnish the job tonight so I can move onto something else,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, cheers guys

Hi pirate, not got a F2, but I would think the Lhs coil lead would go to the Lhs cylinder and the Rhs to the Rhs cylinder - it does on the LC !. As for wiring, orange lead is to the positive side and black to the earth side - sorry can't help more than that !.

left lead to left plug, but both leads fire at the same time as system is a "wasted spark" ie fires at tdc and bdc as for the low tension side it must have a plug that can only go in one way, maybe a picture here from you might help

Black is the ground orange is the live but don't think the coil is polarity conscious. On my f2 orange was longer slightly so put on furthest spade before I fitted banshee coils ( which are far better than original coil). Ht leads don't matter which way round either.

Have you got a multimeter to measure ohms ? If so check each terminal to earth (frame) zero ohms indicates the terminal is grounded and should be the black wire. if both contacts are not at zero then it prob does not matter which is which. Either way if you get it wrong its unlikely to damage anything, you'll either have a spark or not
