Hi everyone, just checking that I'm right in thinking the fazer 600 rear shock is a good upgrade for my f2 ypvs as we all know how shite the standard f2 shocks are. Cheers Nick.

Yeah it's a good upgrade. It raises the back end slightly too which helps the handling and looks. You need the shock from a gen 1 Fazer (98-03) as I don't know whether the later ones fit. You also need to swap the lower fitting to the eye type from a YPVS as the Fazer shock has a fork type fitting.

How long is a standard LC2 shock ?? I've just bought a 2003 Fazer600 shock (300mm eye2eye) but now that its here I realise that it is from the next model on, it's got an eye on both ends rather than an eye on 1 end & a fork on t'other end...Doh! Now then... without stripping the back end, have I struck lucky & not need to change the ends or have I bought something I can't use ?? Cheers. Goody

After bugging a few people it seems that an early FZS is 300mm, the 2003 on is...300mm, so I'm alright on length (there's a 1st). Upper eye = 35mm width Lower eye = 25mm width Eye to Eye = 300mm Could be OK !!!!! Cheers. Goody.

I'm thinking of using a later fazer rear shock on my f2 ypvs. Let us know on your progress. Cheers Nick. Will do but don't hold your breath, I'm planning on finishing the paint 1st. When I pull the backend apart I can also prep & paint the truly horrible chrome/rust swingarm. If anyone out there has an LC2 or F2 shock lying around it would be great if they could measure the width of the top & bottom mounting eyes for reference. Cheers. Goody.
