After eventually sorting the overheating problem on the Brazillian I took it to the Gary Routledge show on monday. Didn`t do the rideout this year as the bike is reluctant to tick over and needs loads of revs and slipping the clutch to pullaway. Once moving it rides ok and the top end throttle is ok. This bike runs F2 powerjets and mains and pilot jets. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Jets have been blown out, needles were 2 from the top and have been moved to the middle.

Not sure if any help but I am having carb issues on a k31 and the symptom you refer to I get when dropping the needle and leaning the mixture. Putting the needle in the bottom clip ie. raising the needle made it sound crap lower revs but picked up ok....so have you tried running richer ie put in bottom clip and see what the feels like......I went from bottom to 2 from top to feel what difference it makes....

Sounds like pilot jets are the problem, but try screwing in the air screws first. Like you I changed all the jets to F2 spec on my 350R, I found they made it richer all round and use more petrol, for not much benifit, so I have reinstalled the original 20 powerjets and the bike runs fine.

I have jetted up one size and fitted Allspeeds and mine runs spot on, I presumed the original still had the restrictors in them hence the jet increase when I changed the pipes.
Do you know if your exhausts have had the restrictors removed?

Hi all, thanks for all the advice. Will have a tinker over the weekend. Exhaust restrictors were gone when I got the bike.

It's recommended to up the mains to 185 (180 standard) and the powerjets to 55 (25 standard)
