nice repair .i had the same damage on my 350 lc its been like it for years.while restoreing the frame and wheels i thought i whould sort this broken lug out.i did the same thing as you.i have a mig welder converted ie set up to weld ali and had a go at it myself it dont look pretty but its done the job.

this is what I did with mine although the engine was out of the bike. I purchased a length of aluminium rod from the bay 15mm diameter??. then ground it down to sit inside the casing so it was a snug fit. Using the outer casing as a guide and also holding the rod in position I welded it in place. sorry I don't have any dimensions as I ain't got the casing any more:-[ hope that helps cheers for that tasty job
