Hi,thanks for the interest, ypvs wheels and brakes ditched, original wheels and brakes fitted, new lock set fitted, standard bars now on and forks raised in yokes, need to lengthen brake hose, waiting for chain and sprocket set . Paint job looks better than it is , frame was painted blue and then hand painted black using a brush with no strip down, getting it road worthy for the summer then going for a full strip and repaint/build next winter. Anyone recognise it ,bought from e bay Norwich area ?

Front forks and mudguard still on and probably staying, bit of a mish mash on the front, 31k stations and f2sliders and fork brace, if it works when I get it going it will stay, bike bought privately through e bay , father selling for son as no e bay account, didn't see bike before sale, just getting on with it

Gonna look cool when you've finished it, proper 80's Old Skool I did enquire about the bike when it was on the bay. It was advertised as a 350LC but when I asked it turned out to be a 250LC ?.

Hi to all, seems I'm having problems down loading to forum as file is tooooo big so here it is in 3 bits, been out to garage to check it's still there,it is ,along with a growing puddle of new engine oil, gear shaft oil seal leaking can this be renewed without an engine strip??

Checked frame and engine numbers upon delivery and, praise The Lord they match, however there for a 250 so someone has spent a wad of money on 350 barrels and carbs, paint job, forks and metmachek swing arm etc, rear brake master cyl held on by one bolt and a jubilee clip, ditched the wheels and brakes and replaced with originals.sounds awesome but end cans held on with jubilee clips, sourcing some equally anti social ones to fit.

Will do, how do you tell ? It was running but tanks gone of for a flush as it was full of paint from spray job, believe someone may have known what they were doing as its running k and n's ,260 mains and spacers between head and inlet rubbers along with the yet unknown expansion chambers. Only markings are on cans "for competition use only"

Sorry about the rubbish photo but its raining here so didn't take it out, but wheels ,brakes ,bars and lock set on, now have one key that does all, postie arrived with new set of chain and sprockets fitted them this evening, note the wet look floor as my engine bleeds its oil out of the gear shaft oil seal , got to buy a whole set to get the one I want but at least it's an easy fix, hopefully the deal on my new spannies will be done later, take it easy ,Gringo Attachments:

Fixed the fuel leak that caused an MOT failure. It was a worn out float valve. I ordered one on Mon pm from Yambits and it arrived this morning. Amazing, quick service from these guys - again! I don't know how they do it. Bike now taxed and MOT'd and fully operational.

Hi guys said it was a rubbish photo but on my I pad it's the right way up, yes found yam bit's do individual oil seal but taken advice from lc crazy web that the shaft is probably knocked as well, going to put in a new seal and see what happens. Spending money seems where it's at but agree that yam bits do a first class service, had half a dozen deliveries from them and can't fault them, off to see a man about some spannies today , excellent foram, hang loose, Gringo

Good news ,done a deal on a set if stainless second hand expansions, turns out the guy has loads of rd and rgv stuff and mentioned that he had a fully rebuilt ypvs engine for sale, I know I should say no but I could run the bike all summer on the lc engine then when it goes to strip down in the winter to get the paint sorted, when the frame comes back from powder coating I could put the ypvs engine straight in , see im talking myself into it, is this an easy swop never owned a ypvs in my youth so don't know much , any thoughts appreciated, looking forward to kicking the engine into life ,Gringo

Hi guys, sorry for the gap in thread, but have to work sometime and had another thread going about the ypvs transplant. Back off night shifts , had some kip and decision made, staying with original engine and going to contact the one stop lc shop, sorry to be clueless but new to this I take it norbo is the owner of RDLC crazy, going to ring him in the morning, got a shopping list as I now have a plan which gives a way forward towards finished result, one step forward, 2 back , get set, plan is get it dry built but working ,don't worry about finish and paint that can all be blinged later, thanks for the support, interest all appreciated , hang loose ,Gringo

Well spotted didn't see it first time round, nice to know it was in decent company, latest is , expansions have arrived, went in garage and found rear tyre flat, my fault changed the tyres on a Sunday didn't have new tubes to fit so had them changed anyway, result is I won't trust front or rear so on the phone to norbo, (wot a nice guy)new heavy duty tubes ordered along with a shed load of new shiney bits, awaiting postie so I can get on with it, expansions look quality build seems like loads to do but once I,ve got the gear shouldn't take long. Update on photos as soon as I start, Griingo

Not a money pit more of an abyss, the more you look the more bodges you find, after taking the back wheel out (again) to change the inner tube I found that the metmachek chain adjusters wre fitted inside out, easy fix but makes you look carefully at everything, had the rear wheel drum machined, now looks as good as new, wheel spindle has been shortened so now fits correctly and the wheel spacers have been made so rear wheel now sorted, next is the oil pump, don't trust it, sourcing a new one and sending to arrow for refurb and set up, got the emulsion paint of te swing arm gonna have a go at the forks next, b and q duck egg satin finish I believe, who ever thinks doing this is an improvement, still awaiting parts from norbo

Hi Gringo, nice project. Thank you for choosing to send your oil pump to me. One of the many checks I do is 'cams in wear limit' (to Yamaha spec). I had one pump here recently where the cams were out of spec. This affects how much oil the pump can deliver at the full bore setting. This is not known until the pump is dis-assembled.
