Is there another post somewhere that says what your running problems are and what your current setup is ?

hard to start, wen it does it wont run on anything less than half throttle. stalls out at will and then no matter what wont start again. the carb has been reapeatedly stripped and cleaned, ive had the top end off and checked that. ive even tried the carb off my road bike and its always the same.

Sounds like it could be electrical to me, maybe a weak output from the source coil.
If the spark is weak then they are hard to start but when the revs get up it starts producing a strong enough spark to run better
Had EXACTLY the same problems with a friends Suzuki X7 and after swapping out everything from a running bike, the stator was the last thing left. The complete stator assy was swapped out and it's run perfect ever since.
Just an idea if you haven't tried it already ?.

If the crank seals gone that would be an air leak into the gearbox? Was there any oil by the big end when you took the top end off?

Had a similar problem with a mk3 ypvs a few years ago. For me it turned out that who ever rebuilt the engine, had put the wrong con rod on the crank shaft they had used one from a standard engine and the piston was not reaching the top of the barrel.
My bike ran all be it just about. But sounded similar to the problems your having

It would be worth while pulling the head of and double checking the piston is reaching the top of the barrel, The ypvs con rod is longer.

Watching this post with baited breath. My DT125LC YPVS wont start either and have checked everything time and time again. I bought a second CDI and it was the same - yamaha mechanic told me that usually they either work or they dont, rarely intermittent. The RD and DT CDI's are different otherwise I would send you my spare to try.

Have you tried replacements of everything from a running bike ?, that's normally the best way to check everything ?.
As suggested, did you whip the head off and make sure the piston is coming up to the correct TDC ?.
My Mk1 had a dodgy CDi last year (common on the Mk1, dunno about the later models ?) but it would run perfect most of the time then just miss a beat when ticking over occasionally or sometimes hesitate a bit on acceleration. Swappedthe CDi out and it's been perfect ever since

hard enough to find bits as it is, getting my hands on a running bike to play donor with, not likely
