Any one been to the post ofice yesterday . Gulp They have a new pricing thing now and yet anether slot to put your mail threw like the large letter thing they bourght in years a go . Its a little longer and wider then a letter box and if your parcel does not go thew then it doubles the post and if its over 1kg and doesnt go therw its even more Basicaly a parcel that would cost £3 if it wont go 1st class and fit thew the slot its £5.90 and if its over 1KG then its £8 I poted a parcel yesterday it was 250G thats nothing cost me almost £6 to post . I had to take a couple of parcels away that were just over 1kg as it would be cheeper to post with a currier now . The post ofice was over flowing with people as well i have never seen it so full people lined up allaround the shop in a masive line . The ladeys at the offise said it had been like that all day wating time was about 20to 30min to get to the counter . It takes so liong now to do a bag of parcels. I can see me doing a lot less with the postofice from now , they are getting to greedy to boots there profets

We gave up long ago with the Post Office, unless it's a basic letter . We use this company virtually every day. If you've got a drop off point local then you're laughing. Just book it on-line, print the label out (stick it on the parcel obviously), then when you drop it at the drop off point they scan it and give you a receipt. You also get a link to track your parcel from door to door. Jiffy bag is cheapest as £3.99. Oh and it links with ebay, so it knows what you've sold and picks up the address information too . www.collectplus.co.uk/Anything heaver or overseas we use interparcel.co.uk

Yeah, the collect+ is perfect if you have a local drop-off point (I have 2 within a couple of mins walk) and it also avoids the aggro of waiting in all day for collections if you're not usually in during the day. Works better for some for sure

Sent a box out last week £5.20 second class. Received the same box back yesterday with a £3 stamp on it (first class) !! Went to the post office for clarification.
I was told that the box is too big to fit through the small package slot, but since last week the PO have issued an amendment stating that as long as the package/box fits in to a container measuring 16cmx16cmx16cm it can still be classed as a small item and the cost is now £3.

I know they gave me a box and said if it fits in there its ok. Problem is if its just to big but no waight in it its still £5.20 and most of them i only quote £3 post you cant say add £5 for post on some stuff if they are big but cheep , and its stilll cheeper on the small parcel;s then the a currier , they are only good for the biger hheavier boxes.
Bloody post office LOL
