Just split the crankcases and found this in the sump. It is plastic/rubber and seems to be a seal of some kind, about 15mm in diameter. It has the ID numbers D12 BP 16 7. I was assuming it is just a piece of debris that the previous owner dropped in as part of his meticulous rebuild process, but if anyone can identify it I would be gratefull.

I've just been looking through some parts books including that one. Can't find anything from there that it could be.

Is it the blanking plug from where the tacho drive gear would go on the earlier models ? If you look on the RD LC site under YPVS parts there is a picture of one on there with similar markings.

I think you may be right. It is a N2 engine, which should be on electronic tacho, but all the mechanical gear for the tacho is installed and working. However the seal that came out of the sump fits the hole that the tacho drive came out of??? Thanks for the help.

Don't think it's anything to do with the Bike. I just totally rebuilt my engine same bike and nothing in there like that. Tacko blank is the wrong size so not that.
