My MK1 125 rebuild over this winter.

Hi im new here but was told to come here to post some pics of my 125lc rebuild over this last winter.
So will try to post them in the right order-ish lol.
Im not building a factory standard bike, im doing the bike i had in my head when I was 17....the fantasy bike i never had the money or ability to build then.
The paint scheme is inspired by the 4LO/4L1 bigger bros...a paint scheme yamaha never did....and IMHO should have....
pics of what I started with last oct...paid £400 for her off ebay.

Shes an 83 Y plate with matching numbers, engine ran well on pickup but rest was a basket case.
The only place this was going was scrap unless someone rebuilt her....which ive done.
next pulled her apart to see how things are and sent off loadsa stuff for blasting and heres pics of when they came back.

next came loadsa cleaning and polishing, and began searching ebay for parts, found a seat for 32 euros all in inc postage from an 80LC2 in germany..... 10W carb from germany 40 euros posted.... FZR600 indicators for 18 euros from finland, standard airbox from a guy called jim in sheff who breaks LCs and TZRs and a swarbrick style exhaust.







Then a visit to norbo just before xmas and spent loads. then began reassembly.

Then built up swinging arm as a unit and fitted it to the frame, most would not do this but it suited me as was working in the house much to my MRS displeasure.

Then fit front end to have her back up on her wheels, looking like a bike again.

next fit short engine and begin to make her look like an LC again.







next fit clocks...again ebay germany they were KPH but I stripped em, removed KPH face and fitted MPH face.

Build engine up a little more....









offered exhaust up loosly just to get an idea..... altho I like it id much sooner have a period short can micron or a large can allspeed.



So WANTED short can micron or large can allspeed if anyones selling

Moving onto where im currently at....paints done so ive skipped forward a bit to make it look more complete than it actually is.....hoping to egg myself on a bit.....have to say im very happy with result.
It wont please the purists but im likeing the look of it...the 350 headlamp and FZR indicators dont look wrong or out of place.















Parts WANTED to complete, 80s period Micron or allspeed and a temp sender as yamaha have discontinued them.
