wondering what the general thoughts are on german ,italian imports of 350lc,s as long as numbers match and there original should there be much difference in value to a uk bike?

There all made in Japan, so every bike is an import...
Ive bought loads of imports over the years and never lost anything vs a "UK" bike.
More importantly, if its all there and the price matches the condition/mechanicals, it wouldnt bother me.

I reckon unless you really want a 'sold in the uk, olive green coating, back as it was when new' bike, then it doesn't matter one iota! If you want a bike to ride and turn into your own then from what I've seen they may be a better bet price and condition wise.
As said, they are all imports really.
My Zx9r was a 'European' model, they just change the headlights and clocks depending on which country the bike was heading to, same as the LC really, just a few differences due to local regulations

just be aare the import rules are about to change, I've had a letter from Customs and Excise just the other day advising me about the changes
It won't be as straight forward as it use to be to get a UK reg, first you have to register it with customs and excise, then prove all or any VAT/import duites have been paid, wait for a certficate from them before you can go to DVLA and request a reg number, the vehcile will most likely need to be MoT'd and insured and also you will only get 14 days in which to advise C&E of the import
I think that's what it said, but that was the jist of it

i am presuming vehicles over a certain age and from the EU will be waved for vat as is the case at the moment,i cant see them getting too involved with 30 year old bikes, how would you supply this info.......?

while no VAT is generally payable on older/second hand vehicles you still have to submit a customs and excise declaration to state that no VAT is payable, so regardless of whether VAT is due or not, you will still need to follow the new guidelines

Was there any 'UK specific' changes?
My UK Bandit had carb de-icer connections whereby non UK versions did not!
