Question one, is it possible to change the outer crank seals on a 4L0 engine without splitting the cases ? question two, whats the standard weight fork oil in a 4LO as i am about to fit progressive springs and i may go a little heavier on the oil, all Halfrauds seem to have is 10 weight.

Well I suppose you can change the crank seals without splitting the cases , but I don't think it would run after tho Do it proprly , will only take 3or 4 hours at a leisurely pace
Fork oil , bitd we used two stroke oil ,ATF,20/50 ,10/40 and often a mix of the lot I think 10/40 and about 20cc more and 10 2p pieces as pre load , or tap the fork top bungs m8 and fit a bolt and spacer to pre-load the springs ,hey ho adjustable suspension (use a long grub screw if you want to keep it looking stock )

Hi m8, no for the seals as there is a lip on the seals that sit within a groove in the casings, so not a 5 min job. Fork oil , I've got medium fork oil in mine (15), but I know some people have went up to 20 - all depends on how you ride and what you like - I would go for 15 as it gives you the best of both.

If it helps I fitted some progressive springs I got from Norbo . 20 oil was terrible so I swapped it for 10 at the weekend . Problem sorted .
