Hi, had a large rad on the 385 but mysteriously blew a hole in it ( literally blew a 5mm split in it ), don't know if it was a fault in the rad but seems funny as it was a TSS one and haven't heard any other problems.
Fitted a standard on and seems to run fine but not thrashed for a long time or in hot weather.
Now tempted by another large rad advertised on the RD/RZ forum which looks better quality but after reading about the 2 blokes with head probs after fitting the large rad it makes me wonder whether it causes problems.
Do I need one/ are they worth it.

Steve, I would of thought the standard radiator will work fine unless you intend racing it. My bike used to run hot with a non standard rad guard, so fitted a standard guard now runs perfect. Jess

Had 2 big rads made for mine and a mates bike ,both have had problems since can't understand why such a small amount of water can make such a difference,if you want one making steve I can give you the number of the bloke who made mine just post him an old standard rad he makes them look brand new.

I think there is a rad off an FZR or something that can be used, does anyone know what fits?

You should only need one if you run a radical bore or tune and ride at constant throttle a lot ie, motorways/dual carriageways if so get an aluminium one made from scratch & you wont have any probs, cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear! Try these guys who have been reccomended to me. www.gmxradiators.co.uk/cgi-bin/shopwise.pl?act=sp&s=48&id=gmx
