Hi guys. Just finished first ever complete strip and rebuild of F2 engine. Started up ok . BUT, loads of smoke from right exhaust and oil spray, oil level in crankcase falling. Suspect clutch side crank oil seal is the problem? I was careful on the rebuild, new seals etc but looking at my Haynes again I think it says the small half moon, half washer thing should go in the groove on TOP of the end bearing so it sits in the UPPER crankcase half, I think I fitted it in the LOWER crankcase half? Can anyone point me in the right direction, can I get the upper crankcase off over the pistons, I really don't want to have to take them off the rods Any help much appreciated. Cheers...

I can't see that being the problem here. On the 4LO the half rings are fitted into the lower case, can't see as it makes any differance. I think the problem may be the seal between the cases if its that bad...

Pistons have to come off to get the top case clear. Also the half moons all fit into the lower case.
