I managed to sneak out into the shed today and I found that the 2 mounts were slightly out of line . So I spent an hour armed with a dremel and a file and I ended up with this :smt001 There's a couple of jobs to do before it's perfect , got to increase the clearance where the top engine mount goes by 5mm and there's a small section of the frame that needs clearing for the bolt but apart from that it looks good so far Once I've done these jobs I can then make a start on the stabiliser plate , ooops , meant bars

this is a cracking build mate, can't wait for more pics And so it shall be ....... I was sitting in the shed the other day wondering what the hell I had started when I noticed that the engine was sitting a bit low and the gap round the top of the cases looked a bit big , so I decided on making another rear mount. With my trusty tape measure I precisely measured it and settled on 20mm , I then set about sitting in front of my pc for hours waiting for inspiration and I ended up with this As you might of noticed I had to remake the mount completely as one of the joys of making parts out of solid is that if it needs modifying it means making it from scratch , so I now have a rather posh doorstop as well Over the weekend I managed to get the Mrs and kids to leave me in peace for a few hours so I thought I'd take advantage and try the mount out , which ended up with this There is a small problem in that the back of the engine mounts foul the frame mount so I'm going to have to machine a clearance pocket into it to allow the engine to rotate a bit as the side cases won't fit as it is. I had to do a bit of surgery on the frame spar so the bolts would go in I'm going to turn some tubes up and get them welded in place once I tidied the cut out up a bit. This now means I can get rid of the cradle that was fitted to the bike when I bought it

I decided that I'd have a go at setting the swingarm angle over the weekend and after a bit of messing around it now looks like this Once the tyres are fitted it will raise the bike up another 75mm so all going well there will be plenty of room for the exhausts , if not I'll have to look into moving the linkage out of the way , which is something I'd rather not do as it will make it even more complicated ! I had a bit of spare time and after a couple of hours on the mill I ended up with this I had to re-make the bottom yoke because the first one didn't have any clearance at the back for the wiring to pass through so I angled the back face off instead of having pockets. The brass shim is there because the forks I'm rebuilding are 54mm and the Gsxr ones I'm using now are 53mm so once I've had them rebuilt they "should" drop straight in . Next update might take a while as I'm trying to get my head around how to make the front engine mounts and if I'm honest it's not going that smoothly !

I finally had these taken apart I checked the sliders and they are nice and straight but after looking at the stanchions they are quite marked and I know I wouldn't be happy with them so ........... You'll notice that there isn't a computer in sight

Ditto on the wow! Thats a big boring job. Using a bar or big assed replacable tipdrill? Also, the engine cradle. Is there a front mount or the rear one you made handles all of it? Now that blingy door stop.......would that fit a 2ma frame? :-)

Now that blingy door stop.......would that fit a 2ma frame? :-) There's only 2 sections that need boring , where the front bush and oil seal are and the top bush . The rest is clearance , once I've cut one of the ohlins legs in half I'll post some pictures up The plan is to have front mounts but I've stopped that for the time being , which might explain why I never seem to get anything finished I'm not sure if it would fit a 2ma but I'm sure I could come up with something

Managed to find a couple of hours spare and I ended up with this pile of bits ( mine are the bits on the right ) I had a test fit of the sliders and there's a bit of play but when the legs get anodised that will get taken up , I hope ! I've still got to put the rebound screws in and the key ways into the preload adjusters and then I think they are ready to get put together , well unless I find something else to make for them , just can't think of what though :eusa_whistle: I know the finish on this part isn't that important but .... It's not as if it's that difficult to get a good finish , here's my effort
