I have a very slight leak at the gear selector shift seal. How easy is this to replace? I hope I don't have to split the cases open to access

Easy to replace, just pop it out with a screwdriver & push in a new one, if that doesn't stop the leak then you may find there is a groove in the gear change shaft & to replace this you only need to remove the R/H engine case, if that doesn't stop the leak the gear change shaft bush may be worn out & to change that you need to split the cases

Thanks for that do you happen to know what the seal is called or how I would find one? Phone you local Yam spares dept and ask if they have part number 93101-12004 in stock. OEB

I reckon you could just about replace the bush without splitting the cases using a long drift from the clutch side.

I reckon you could just about replace the bush without splitting the cases using a long drift from the clutch side. If I remember right the shift shaft goes through a section of the case that is separate from the rest so could be knocked in and won't go anywhere. Either that or if you get a hollow drift just knock it in over the shaft with the new one. ( obviously change the shaft first if grooved ) Steve
