my yam lc 250 has been laid up in dry storage for a long time,is there any thing i should do before firing the motor up for first time?thanks.

clean carbs out,new petrol,bleed oil pump to be sure a few drops of 2 stroke in the barrels and kick over i put a drop of redex in the petrol just to keep the jets clean ;D welcome by the way

thanks a lot mate, i plan to start bike with aux fuel tank while my bikes fuel tank is being cleaned out.

got a spark! motor rebuilt before storage,fingers crossed eh

my thoughts are the gears have been half in and half out of oil for so long so everything above the oil line is possibly rusted to some degree,and thats just the start, ,,what about the clutch plates that have dried out and the ones below the oil line are most likely had it as well,,the bike i got hadnt been started for a couple of years and the know it all previous owner got it started easy,,as a result i had to get it rebored and go up .5mm to compensate for his expertise,
