hi dude,i had the same prob on mine, tho dont know if my float valve would fall out without the float bowl on,but the valve was notchy on the float tab and was jamming up and causing both carbs to overflow.i cleaned both carbs out jus to b sure, and blew all the jets out with an airline.the tab on the float bowls i rubbed with some fine wet and dry paper just to smooth out a bit, then rubbed some polish on the tab for good measure.i havent had a problem since.hope this is of some help.

I've had this m8 and did what flames has said.the hole or slot the needle valve sits in was notchy so rolled up a small piece of wet and dry and worked it round, aukward job m8 but did the trick.
