Hi all It feels like i am almost setting myself up by asking this question but here goes ! ;D After spotting a blown base gasket on the YPVS pulley side of my 31K, i've removed the engine to do a proper top end rebuild ! Everything looks fine just for the exception of the blown gasket. So i figured new seals and rings and gaskets were a worth while job seen as i'm this far along Anyway this is where i notice the .50 mark on top of just one piston ! (No marks etc on other side) standard And here comes the question ! Is it safe running one side piston oversize ? the only reason i ask is prior to the strip down it ran sweet as a nut and did'nt seem to have an inbalance in power, idling or full chat ?? Waits for fire truck to put out flames !! Cheers Dave

I'm sure it's not best engineering practice, but it wouldn't worry me overly.
I'd be most worried about any difference in piston weight, rather than the tiny bit more power the bigger side may have. If you have accurate scales, or know a local friendly drug dealer, weigh the pistons & rings.
