Ladies and gents, I'm a simple person and so computer iliterate that not even sure if hits is being put on the right page. Like most people of my age I'm trying to re-live those early days (some 20-30 yrs ago) so went out and bought a project about a year ago. Getting a rolling frame was the easy bit, full re-build of the rolling chasis, brakes and so on so forth. QUESTION is - I went and bought a 4L1 250 engine. Will the 4L0 350 barrells fit straight on and run as the bike should. Am aware that the carb jets will need to bo up-graded.

Thanks for that. Had my head stuck in a Haynes manual for ages trying to figure out what the differance was between the 1981-82 2/350's. Just sounded tooooo easy. Tought there may have been more to it. NOT exactly mechanicaly minded but having fun doing it.

Welcome in. You will also need the correct 350 oil pump and its drive. Both are different to the 250.

Any more tips would be appreciated. And funny enough I have a set of 350 barrells sitting under the stairs. Know of anywhere half decent to send them off for re-boring.

Noting wrong with soft spots. We all have them. I'm starting to favour the soft spot for a good oil pump to, don't want to be running to dry, can't beat plenty of lube.

Carbs are sitting under the stairs too. Not sure which ones they are, not got round to checking those yet. Whats the best jet, specially if I stick on a set of Gibsons?

Have a look on e-bay. The YPVS pump is also the same as the 350lc one.

Gents, thanks for the advice. It has been a great help. Can crack on with it now and hopefully get the bike out of the lounge sooner rather than later.
