I have dry fitted the oil pump on my 31K and i don't know if its an optical illusion but the bend on the oil pipe seems pretty acute and maybe even kinked has anyone else noticed this?

Hi M8, looks the same as mine and I've had no trouble since rebuild - 510 miles on clock now. One thing i did do is - put some protective sheving over the pipe, were it touches the water pump cover / housing. i think this is a must, as it's only going to wear through in time.

Most likely just me being a bit over the top, I've had a couple of rubber pipes wear through on my diesel car. Not much chance of any vibration / movement at the oil pump end, but the pipe does touch the water pump and i would hate to f**k the engine through lack of oil - just puts my mind at rest.

A length of spring would work well. Would stop any kinking too.
