I Use 24:1 Religiously. as long as the plugs don't foul and they certainly shouldn't at that ratio there's no such thing as too much oil... quite the contrary actually. IMO theres' NO prize awarded for economising on the cost of oil:-)

i ran mine on 25ml of oil per ltr of fuel, or 125ml per 5ltr jerry can. a good friend of mine (gerry pell) told me that ratio, he also told me that too much oil also makes the bike fuel lean, so dont forget that loads of oil is not always such a good idea.

thats the problem.everybody has a different answer. surely there must be a reccomended figure. pepsisteve i agree thats why im after a definite answer. dont want too much to foul the plug or cans but also want enough to avoid a seize

Not while its still on autolube it won't. Thats the beauty of a pump system.

i prefer a pump. got a 350 i want to keep for the good weather?( if we get some) and just got hold of a molested ypvs to use in the winter. only prob is the dog has no oil tank, a blank off plate fitted over where the pump should be and the rider unsure what mix to use :-(

Use a top of the range fully synthetic oil, look for JASO FD, and/or ISO-L-E GD on the botttle.

A mate of mine had a husqvarna dirt bike that had the very same instructions in the hand book. Took me a long time to convince him that those figures quoted = 40:1 not 25:1 (as he thought).

No worries mate. I always 'tweek' my oil pumps up. You can get away with it, with the super clean oils we have today. I have done much work and studied the Yam. oil pumps in great detail.
