Hi guys. Just a quick question. Just discovered the unmentioned in the Haynes manual clutch arm needle bearing. I've got the washer and the oil seal out, is there a clever way to get the needle bearing out, it seems well fixed in there! I will be replacing it anyway. Cheers....

NO, at least not without incurring serious swearing and potential case damage. Are you absolutely Sure ?? that it actually needs replacing? Few do.

I drifted mine out when I split the cases for a bottom end rebuild. It was an absolute pig to get out and I really butchered it to finally remove it. Easily the hardest part of what is normally a straight forward rebuild. I had the cases vapour blasted so really wanted to remove and replace the bearing along with the gearbox bearings, but I imagine that if it's been well lubricated, it probably wouldn't display too much wear. Depends on how far you want to go.
Good luck
Dusty
