How important is the Airbox duct / trumpet on a bog standard 250 lc?
My bike doesn't have one and I can't find a replacement anywhere.
I can't see how it makes a huge difference as it's a straight tube rather than a funnel or trumpet but you never know with these crazy strokers!!

Well, mine is the 350 and it runs like crap without it and has a noisy induction roar that does not sound pleasant.

you are on about the Airbox's Snorkel part? Removing it will let the engine breathe a wee bit better and noise will go up a v small amount. IF.. there are running issues with it's removal then your Bikes' jettings are significantly (seriously?) off. Best fix them.. before it seizes or develops a piston hole.

I think it's an accumulation of several factors, the snorkel being just one. I want to get everything all spot on before I start on the carb tuning process.
Once I've got it all back together with all the right bits in all the right places I'll know that the only variable will be carb set up.
Cheers for the replies guys, especially Marsbar. I now have a trumpet on it's way.
You know who you are, Cheers fella!
