stripped bike to fit new piston ect and while i had the carb off thought i would test your knowledge it has a 12a carb and there are two brass nipples on either side of the carb , this has been linked from one to the other with a bit of tube ,just wandered if this is correct and what would be the purpose of this , can be seen here the nipples are at 9 oclock and 3 oclock in the picture thanks for any advice

what bike is it ? is it running on preix ? at a guess i would say one nipple would be for oil injection the other possibly some sort of vacum take off thats now not needed so they have been blanked off by linking together , wheather thats because you have a different carb fitted or the bike has been modded

its off a 1985 rd125lc and the oil injection is direct into the carb just before the reed block (as can be seen on top right in picture),running premix now but the bike was running autolube when i got it and this is how the carb came rigged up.

ah yes i see now , unless they are over flows , if so they shouldnt be linked together, think you will have to wait for a 125 expert on this one mate you could always pull the pipe off when running to see if its sucking air , may give you a clue

I think they are overflow pipes and someone has linked them together could be wrong though

they are breathers should have a pipe on each goin down through little bracket on each rear screw Its something to do with vacum/pressure or summin and i doubt being rigged like that will help their function i did read into this
