Ask kenny.
I thought it had something to do with controlling the speed the gas left at for the back pressure.
Was told by someone if you remove the internal stinger from the microns it will adversely affect the power.
If you are looking at using normal cans with microns it would not be too difficult to fabricate a simple pipe on to a metal flange to sandwich between the can and the micron flange.

OK CHAPS.....I NEED A FAVOUR COULD SOME KIND PERSON WITH A MICRON THE SAME AS MINE,LONG CAN,BS STAMPED,CURVED OUTLET PIPE, MEASURE THE LENGTH OF THE STINGER PIPE PLEASE AND LET ME KNOW IF IS DEAD STRAIGHT FROM CAN AND IF ANY OF IT IS PERFORATED pretty please Only had the flared spout type but front pipe is the same so should be same. Was about 12 inches long and straight with no holes. Went at a slight angle to the can to clear the bend in the end of the chamber. Can't measure as I no longer have them. Steve
