First post here, so hello all,
I bought a nice RD350LC hybrid back in October from a chap near Portsmouth, which I'm very pleased with. It does however have a couple of niggling problems.
1. Clutch. Select first gear with the engine running and it gets stuck there. I understand it's clutch drag. What's the solution to this, simple trial and error on adjustment?
2. She starts perfect from cold on choke, nice blue smoke from both sides, but shut the choke and after 30 seconds and the right hand pot stops smoking and sounds like its not firing. The left pot is still cackling away, but the right seems as if it's just not doing much. It's pushing out fumes etc but has no oomf.
Cheers for any help.

Sounds like a blocked pilot jet on the R/H side. My Lc dragged really bad when I first got it. Bloke had done 200 miles in the previous 4 years. Much better after some proper use. Make sure the adjuster bolt has just 1/4 turn of free play.

Clutch drag-if it gets bad, try an oil change, otherwise new friction plates and oil. Could be a basket problem, but unlikely. Starting prblem, does it run ok when warm?? Could be pilot, may be worth trying new plugs too. Ian.

I will change the oil soon ready for the spring.
It runs fine with the choke on warm or cold, but as I say, seems the right hand pot becomes starved of fuel when turned off.

I would strip the carbs down to see whats going on. Application of the choke to the engine (when its warm) should kill it, and not make it run fine at all. Also check the 'o' rings are in good nick on the air correction screws, and throttle stop screws. If the rebuilt and cleaned carbs don't cure it then start checking for air leaks. I presume all the induction side of things is in good conition ?

If the gear lever stays down, the return spring could be broken. You'll need to take the clutch cover off to check properly.

Ah, frenchie, are you saying its hard so select neutral or the gear lever actually stays in the down position when you select first ?

Yes, difficult to get out of first unless you kill the engine, but it does go into second on occasion. Impossible to find neutral with it running. As soon as the engines off I can find neutral easy.
