Brilliant thread mate - your first ride was a year to the day before i was born, so i can't say i identify with it, but i can totally appreciate the sentiment and the great memories it must carry for you.
I must go through some of my old pictures this weekend and re-live some of my own memories.

I found these today.... i was 16, and it was July 1984... and in Amsterdam... In November that year it was all over for the ER... Some silly girl pulled out on me on a bicycle of all things, I hit her, dislocating her arm and then hit the bridge column, fracturing my thumb... we both went to hospital together and then to the police. Her dad was a some bigwig and wanted the book thrown at me. The cop felt sorry for me i think as her family and friends were all there and it was like they ganged up on the poor English guy who doesnt speak the language very well. He winked at me, threatened to lock the dad up and told him to 'find some insurance you can claim on to pay this guy!'. After that it was simpler and I got more than double the value of the bike back. nice. The accident made the papers and I have the cutting somewhere.. LOL!

Thanks mate. The ER had a derestricted 50cc motor which was all OEM Suzuki, including cylinder, head, carb and exhaust. Thing really flew.... until it met its end :/ Those fast 50 parts lived on in my mates bike tho as he had lent me his bike for a few months when i had no bike, so i gifted them to him on return. My next bike was an MT5, much more modern, lighter and easier to tune... that one had a 70cc kit, until the cops clocked me still accelerating away from them at 110kmh (70mphh) LOL Gotta love these back in the day threads, I wanna see what you guys were all up to when you were 16... especially Sunny!

my first bike on road was in november 1980 a purple fs1-e with a 60cc kit, ported by my mate, 2 teeth less on rear cog for faster top speed and was clocked by my mate on an rd400 which i later bought at 77mph downhill, whats everybody elses record on a 50/60cc?

I did see over 70mph on the Autissa 65cc MB5 with an Allpeed pipe and big carb... and it would power wheelie in 1st, but maybe i was just fat and sat too far back LOL
