can u give me more info on this nick? This is the kit I use, the only other things you need are an old car battery, an aquarium bubbler, 5ltr Jewsons brick acid & 5ltr of distilled water. I've had the kit for 2 years & done tons of plating. www.gaterosplating.co.uk/Bright-Nickel-Plating-Kit.phpBasically you clean up your parts ;D & immerse them in brick acid for about 30 mins, then remove them with rubber gloves on & immerse in distilled water. You put the tank heater on about 30 mins before you want to plate to heat up the chemicals. Wearing rubber gloves remove the parts from the water & suspend them in the solution on bits of copper wire. Connect the suspended components to the negative side of the battery. The posative side goes to a coil resistor, then via a crockadile clip to the nickle anodes. Turn on the bubbler & 20 mins later, shiney shiney ;D You can plate anything that will fit in the tank

Hello,
The colour difference could be because the parts are old and the composition has changed over the years.
It is difficult to get a good match when plating
