Just Finished my winter project, before it's winter again.
Decided to buy a ypvs just like the one i used to race at north glos and pembrey etc back in the day.
Started out with a F2 in need of a tidy up, so strip down and sandblast & respray the frame and an unused centre stand to match, good start.[/img]
Problem, stand bolts & spring look crap, paint & lacquer them, still look crap.
Am i really going to renew every part i bolt back on or be disappointed ( and bankrupt )
then i saw this on e bay
At least this way i can keep the anoraks off my back i thought.
found this pic on the forum, flintstones indeed !!
So its back to the sandblasters ( more money) and start all over again.
flintstone needs a new stem in the yokes and the shock mount reinforcing, plus the fairing brackets welding on,
frame started life as a grey import RZ 250, and a bracket for the shock reservoir.
after a long time and more cash the rolling chassis stage has arrived.
Next job total engine stripdown just to clean it !
exhausts in really good order except roadrash on both end cans so out comes the angle grinder!!
get some adaptors welded on, tyga cans all the way from across the globe and there you go.
This is how it turned out
all that was needed was jetting up and it's good to go.
feels quite stiff front and back but before i can really evaulate the bike i first need to pass my bloody test!!
Hope you like it cheers
before anyone says i did a good job big thanks go to John & James Buckingham who basically did all the tricky stuff while i made the tea !
