gday, i played rugby league for a while, aswell as union, aussie rules, soccer, anything actually and in my opinion its the most physical sport i ever played, even though in all of these sports there is a chance of terrible injuries , we would play on a sunday,go to work monday hardly being able to move for awhile till you warmed up and start training again on tuesday, honestly if i new then what i know now i wouldnt have played, its just to hard on the body i think

i've never been a huge fan of league, but union is such an undervalued sport i think. I can't understand how anyone can find football more entertaining than rugby - so much more action and commitment in a rugby match. World cup just started too - we've got our first match this morning at half nine ifyou're at home. i've got to work

I'm an avid supporter of Rugby League and a premier club season ticket holder at St Helens. Its the most underestimated game out there.
I played a lot of soccer years ago but only watched league on TV, then a friend who happens to be the chairman at Saints invited both my wife and myself along to a game and we were hooked. Soccer to me is full of overpayed cheats, theres nothing honest about the game anymore, players rolling round in agony then seconds later they get up and carry on playing, swearing at the ref etc. To much money involved.
Dave.

I'm with you buckshot - i really can't understand why football is still so big, it seems to me like a bit of a farce nowadays, whereas rugby is played properly for the love of the game, not for the size of the pay packet.

in the news overhear some time ago i seen a picture of a referee(Soccer)in belguim standing over a bloke laying on the ground holding up a red card to send him off for taking a dive, it ended being a heart attack and he died . The ref was so sick of them falling over to try and milk a penalty, sorry but i almost found it funny in my wierd old way,but hopefully his wife isnt a member hear.

I loved football for years but i am with you guys on this. I am not going to go down the how much good could be done with the ridiculous amounts of money in football road, and lets be fair if your boss turned round and offered you 100k a week you are not going to say no give it to the poor are you, but it should never have been allowed to get to that stage.
If i may make a comparison with the crowd at Rugby against football it did seem a lot less aggressive but then i guess i was detached from it with not having an affiliation with either team it sort of washed over me.

don't they say that rugby is a hooligans game played by gentleman, whereas football is a gentlemans game played by overpaid tarts (or something like that)?
