is money realy that tight?

ive been nocked money on the last 3 private jobs ive done for people and just wondered if im too soft or if people are generaly very poor at the moment?
last one i did was a resto on some classic bike pannels for a local guy(easy £400 job in a body shop as it was seriously battered and required many hours straightning,plastic welding etc etc) i ended up getting £60 which just about covered materials.

as from now unless i get seriously skint im sticking to my 8-5 day job as it just seems every one is out to ripp people off or get something for nothing.

Too soft I recon. If your local guy is really that skint then he wouldnt be paying someone else to do the work.
Im feeling the pinch this year but Im not going to reduce the cost of my services as it just cheapens the product, infact Im putting my rates up and if I loose a few jobs then so be it

well i guess im just too soft mate,i kind of felt guilty when he was moaning about being skint etc i wasnt so much wound up about the money but more the principle of being taken advantage of if you get me,i guess he probaly planned it all along but then i thought to my self karma's a b1tch and sooner or later it will catch up with him. ;D

I dont beleave in carma . i do a friend a favour and put my self out to help them even to the point that its been costing me money to do the favour and they still fall out with you .

i do people favours on parts and help them with advice on the phone all the time then they get in a mag and not a menshon of the site at all.

I dont think what you give it what you get at all i think you give and people take and you have to just be happy that you a good person and have given in the first place.
