Well I have been away from the forums for a while, so first I would like to say 'hello guys, I'm back!'
Unfortunately for you guys I have made a hard, (but I think in the long run), sensible decision to buy......... a bullet proof diesel
Unbelievably, a car was no longer on the cards due to the insane insurance prices. I'm 18, to insure a group 1 car, the very cheapest quote I ever managed to find for 1 years insurance was £4,280 for third party fire and theft cover.
I have been looking a 4 stroke bike for a while now and toyed with the idea of a sports bike and almost bought a VFR 400 but I pulled out because with no car it would be hideously impractical.
So, I was just going round in circles and with no stable income and no means of transport I gave up for a while.
Then, out of the blue I spied this absolute beauty, for the price I paid and the condition it was in it would have been rude not too really
So the plan is to get my test done asap and use her as a commuter (seems a shame because it really is almost mint).
How much for the insurance you might want to know?
Well, £325 for the year.
I struggle to understand how that works when they wanted 15x that for an old 1L corsa
And finally, what is to be done with the 125?
Well it has to be said that because I'm bike bonkers in a non-biker family, the old man and me mam were not impressed with my decision. So unlike if I were to get a car, my mum and dad are unwilling to help me pay for the Bandit.
So very regrettably, once shes got some new wheel bearings and a chain. The 125 will be looking for a new home
That said, I will not be leaving 2 strokes behind. Once I have got myself sorted out, the first thing I will be saving for will be a nice old stroker ;D
Thats all for now guys, hope my big old diesel can come and play with the stroker gang at squires cafe when test is done
P.S Non of you would beat me in a race though thats a given
