if your anything like me, and i,m not making assumptions here, do you generally realize what you should have said, two days after the moment has passed?
well my good and beautiful wife will tell you that it takes me about 2 years!!
which brings me to a post that i have just recalled from approximately 2 years ago, it goes something like this :-
a forum member walks into a dealership and has an encounter with a young spotty salesperson, after a small amount of banter the memeber divulges that he has an rd350lc, to which the salesperson responds oh yes, they were a load of shit!!
now, being taken a back and somewhat insulted the forum member left the dealership and went home somewhat disgruntelled and posted the story and possibly divulged the dealership name.
There was various responses to the post, not unsurprisingly, as all the people reading the post were mostly lc owners, however i recall one response which went along the lines off:- yes well they were shit really, brakes were rubbish, didn,t inspire confidence out of bends, compared to todays bikes, so on and so forth!
So, my point, two years late!! yes in hindsight the brakes were shit, you couldn,t really expect a 100% perfect exit from a bend, the tyres were about as good as the tyres on my wheel barrow and had as much grip as my three legged cat, drunk on a skid pan, but the lc is more than just this seat of the pants stuff which we all loved when we teenagers, because it was to control and tame a wild machine, its the smell, its the insane powerband, its the sound, it was owning the best bike, the bike all the others couldn,t afford, it was a bird puller!
So yes the salesperson was right, but he was also wrong, inexperienced and naive, what he should have said was, you know what, the lc was a great bike in its day, now what can i do for you today sir?
and in hindsight to the salemans first response maybe the forum member should have explained to him to f**k off!
oh well, live and learn
