Ok so it looks like I'm going ahead with converting to YPVS, just to make sure, what exactly do I need to convert a UK MK2 to a working YPVS model.
So far the parts list is,
YPVS Crank
YPVS cylinder, head and piston complete with working PV
Servo motor and cables
YPVS controller, C.D.I and loom
.......................................................................
Do you need a different stator/flywheel rotor?
Anything els going to come into play?
Cheers boffins ;D
Adam.

I reckon you could easily make the extra bit of loom, there's 5 wires that run from the controller to the servo, one that runs from the cdi to the controller, plus a couple of power cables which will need to come from somewhere! I'll find out what i've got in that list this week! Definitely got the servo, possibly cables, just need to speak to Taymar racing!
You also need gasket kit, main bearings??? Crank oil seals, and I don't know if the top hose is different???

Yeah top hose is different,
The loom that I have on the bike I'm rebuilding is shot anyway Carlos tbh.
I found a guy that can supply all the bits to do the full conversion mate.
However, rather than buying the full crank off him, if you have the YPVS con rod and a fresh big end bearing I could have those off you along with mains and gasket kit if you have them?
Depends how far my budget will stretch for the time being.

i personally wouldnt bother +1 i have mk3, it nice to have some bottom end, but you don't ride in low rev range but it is quick of the mark and tops 100mph i would keep it like it is than spend money on it or sell it and find a mk3 as they are the one that going to be worth more money in year to come as they are so rare

Aye, the bike I'm rebuilding is 1GM matching numbers. The big end went so it needs a total engine rebuild. Loom is shot to pieces as is the head/bore/piston. So it would make sense to stick a bit on yam heritage on it ;D Not going for a silly tune or anything stupid. Its just going to be a standard looking white/red MK2 fitted with YPVS. Will keep my nice 10w bore and carb/piston/crank etc to refit should I ever want a totally standard bike. Any way, I might change my mind still yet (I do this allot lol) because looks like getting the bent sub frame sorted and having a new rear engine mounting lug welding on will sap money before the frame is even powder coated Adam

Well either way.......... I'm getting the YPVS, even if I never get to use it I will put it on my bedside table ;D And yeah I think the majority of people would like to see it in standard trim. The only problem is that I'm liking the look of mk3 gold wheels too I wish it was a mk3 I don't have enough money nor time to go megga anal on it though, all changes are reversible tbh. Off to go take some pics now so I fire up a rebuild thread Adam

as gaz advised keep it standard mate,or if it was me i would flog it and use the cash to go towards a ypvs as you already have a nice 125lc.maybe paint the wheels gold on your current 125lc or maybe just paint a seperate body kit to fit your current bike if your thinking of getting a ypvs soon any way?

Please Gaz mate if you would, I'm still not sure what I'm going to do now I don't see the harm in making a matching numbers bike into a special, I'm not going for a show bike. I want a bike I can ride and that will draw interest. Either way I'm sicking to 125's for now because I'm poor
