Cancer

Well, Christmas Eve I fell over on the ice and hurt my bits, one of them swelled up a bit, but I put that down to the fact I'd fallen over, by new year it wasn't as sore, and the swelling came and went until about February when the swelling stopped getting better.
I had a read on the internet and because it was painful it suggested that I didn't have cancer.
I wasn't registered with a doctor, so I went and got the forms, signed up, had to have a medical (which took a week) then got an appointment with the doc (which took another week) and he sent me for an utrasound.
Some woman put gel on my bits and prodded a probe into them, told me nothing and said my doc would get the results. I got a call from the docs the next day and I asked her if I had cancer, and she said "I can't tell you no, but it would be unlikely. She put me on antibiotics in case it was a cyst and referred me to a specialist who I went to see 5 days later.
I walked in, he sat me down and asked if he knew why I was there, I said I knew I had a lump but i didn't know what it was, he said they think I've got cancer and the only thing to do was remove my testicle.
After a chest x-ray, most of my blood removed and a CT scan I went in on Thursday and had my right testicle removed.
The CT scan shows that the cancer may have spread to my lymph nodes.
So, my testicle has been sent off for tests, there'll be a meeting next Friday to discuss my case, and the next step is probably chemo.
Scary 2 weeks!
So I've decided the bike has to go, I need the cash for if I end up on half pay, I only did 100 miles on it last year!
I've also got a mk3 barrel and head which was tuned by Taymar racing and a few other bits and bobs!
I'll put it all on evil bay and put the links on here!
The moral of the story, if there's something wrong with your bits get them checked!

Hi Carlos.... So sorry to hear about your news.... I was in the same boat as you in 2009,different cancer but still very very worried. I was diagnosed in 2009 with CML- Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.. That was it in my books...sell everything, move away and live the rest of my life somewhere else... You don't really know what to think when you are told the news,so many things that you haven't done, seen and most of all how long have I got....
The way things are with Cancer nowadays you catch it early and you have a very very good chance of beating it....
I take 2 Chemo tablets everyday now for the rest of my life.Yeah I still get tired, and I'm still grumpy and miserable to live with, but I'm alive and I will see out my old age..... ;D
I bought my LC2 just after I was diagnosed, because I thought I would never ever have one..and like me she's still going strong!!!!.... ;D And now I have another toy to play around with, well when I've decided to strip her down that is!!
I know it's difficult but try to look on the brighter side of things and try not to let it get you down....difficult I know but you've got to keep positive things in your mind....
All the best Carlos and I wish you well..... Nick

Stay positive mate This is a very good advice! Carlos, I don't know what you think about what I'm about to say, it's pretty much as unscientific as it can possibly get. (but remember, placebo has been PROVEN) if you disagree with my view on these things, just ignore it all. - I have done alot of reasearch on placebo and the LOA, (law of attraction) and I believe there is alot more to it then we can imagine. I saw a video one time, there was a guy speaking about his friend, he had terminal cancer and only about 6 months left to live. This guy would not accept it though, he pushed all those bad thoughts away and focused on just laughiing around, not letting the fear get a hold of him. And lo and behold, this guy beat the cancer! Now, personally I havn't had cancer (as far as I now anyway lol) but I have 6 years experience of staying somewhat healthy. Back in the days, I used to get sick about 3-4 times a year. I would always be sick for about a week and cough my lungs out for two weeks. One time I got very sick in a influenza, I laid in bed for three f***ing days, feeling like absolute crap. And man, the coughing was killing me, holy shiet lol. If I didn't force myself to eat/drink, I think I may very well have died from it. (I didn't realise the danger back then but now I know better) After that influenza I said to myself that I would never let any influenza or bacteria win, and I stayed healthy for 6 years. I did get some crap some days ago though, it hit me very suddently and very hard on the evening (I was actually planning on going out for a run but at that point I started feeling like a bag of shite) so I had to go to bed, and when I woke up I felt even worse. (the problem is that in your sleep, you cannot conscuiously kill diseases, so you may wake up feeling worse) My head was spinning around, I was cold-sweating in my bed etc. I did manage to take control over the disease though but it wasn't easy as it hit me so hard just before I went to bed. But hey, at least I didn't start to caugh my lungs out! I still havn't got a cough during those 6 years and I used to get them like 3-4 times a year. Anyway, nobody needs to be as sick as they usually get. You CAN really control this stuff, if you're really good at it, you can kill an influenza attack in a few hours, I've done that many times before. So, how do you do it? To put it in a very short sentence: It's mind over matter. Pretty much placebo, except you're aware that you're using the placebo. Expectations of the outcome is of utmost importance. If you look at the near future, expecting to become more sick, you will become more sick. If you on the other hand ignore all the physical symptoms in your body, and ignore all these scientific studies about cancer spreading and blah blah, instead, just say to yourself; "I will make this. I will not let the cancer win." but you really have to BELIEVE these words. With this mind set, you can actually force away cancer attacks and all kinds of things. Your health is a part of the thing that makes you, you. Humans are not cast in stone, we can change dramatically throughout the years, (for instance, a sadist can grow compassion etc) and so can our health. If you look at your mental status in the sense of how you feel - are you a sick person, or a healthy person? The answer lays within your emotions. So, expect to beat the cancer, otherwise you will most likely not beat it. Only thing that can beat it then is the doctors, and their methods are not as powerful as the mind (although their methods are definitly worth trying as a last resort). Hope this helps and good luck mate! PS: Every time I talk about this stuff, I get bombarded with viruses etc that I have to deal with, I guess I am not allowed to tell people about this stuff. But f**k that, I'm to nice to turn my head around and let people fall ill when there is a slightest chance that I can help them!

Thanks billy! I'm very positive about all of this! I'm 29, never had any serious illness before, and the stats are on my side! Ok, it's going to be a challenging few months, but then i'll be able to get on with the rest of my life!
Thanks for everybody else's comments, they mean a lot!
Have you all checked yourselves?

I don't know you from Adam, Carlos, but you sound like a real nice fella - with a positive and upbeat attitude and a great deal of honesty. Those qualities are a real credit to you under the circumstances and we are all thinking of you and wishing you and your family the very best! It sounds like you have an extended family on here... They are a good bunch, I'd have to admit. Take care and keep positive, Steve.

Good luck with this. A couple of friends of mine have had testicular cancer, and both have made complete recoveries. Age is on your side and modern treatment is so much better than it used to be. Lance Armstrong is living proof that people survive this form of cancer. On another note, if you don't need the cash at the mo, keep the bike. If you love it like most guys here love their Rd's, it will give you a focus if you do find yourself off work for a bit. I kept my Rd400 through a messy split with an ex girlfriend years ago, and it was the only thing I had at the time to take my mind off wanting to throttle her !! You'll come through this, and having the bike to look forward to will make it all the more sweeter. All the best, and stay positive Best wishes Dusty

Carlos i hope it all goes well for you. I was diagnosed with hodgkin's lymphoma at age 29, was in the RAF so got v fast treatment, a bit too fast, after having some lymph nodes whipped out and tested they couldn't find out why my blood was so f**ked 6 months of tests never resolved why I became so ill! Like others on here have said if caught early it can be dealt with. Matt

Well, I've been to see the specialist today, the tumour was cancerous, and has spread!
So, the next challenge is chemo!
But they are still saying this is curable!
The Mrs and my mate are trying to pursuade me not to sell the bike, so I'm going to sell all the bits and pieces then see where we are with money etc!
