Got a 10w (RD125LC) shock in mine. Top mount is straight in and the bottom just needs a couple of correct sized washers to pack it out as the bottom mount is slightly narrower on the 125 shock. Jacks the back up about right for me and rides good

Most who have tried an SV650 shock have said it's damping is "SHOCKING"........ ha ha ha ha cant be any worse than std lc shock but do they work?i wont be doing track days on my lc or anything just the odd spin......me thinking a sv650 wud be a more modern shock than the standard 1 ,hence better

The SV shock is well known as an option, but quite a few people didnt like it when it was on the bike. I bought one and its not the best quality shock ever thats for sure. I also had an R6 shock for my YPVS here at the same time and it was like chalk and cheese with them, the R6 was top notch, the SV was like some cheapo ebay jobbie in comparison. I never fitted my SV shock and in the end bought a 125LC one instead.

right just a bit of an update, being doing a bit of investigating this morning and removed my f**ked standard 4lo shock.standard 4lo shock eye to eye is 315mm.i thinking of going down the road a honda vtr 1000 shock (up to 2000 model) it will fit with a few spacers and bushings made up on lathe in alloy.its a top quality ''showa'' shock and it will jack up the back end about 30mm which is what i want.will let u know how i get on with piccys ect........ ;D

Dunno about the SV shock mate, I still have the standard one on my 650 (2000 model) and it seems to be fine (13000 miles) although I have heard lots of people go on about how shite they are and go off really quickly.
I got a new shock of Norbo a few years back and that was great for the price (£100 i think) plus it raised the rear a bit which is great.

Hi, I fitted an R6 shock to my 400E that used an Lc swingarm(Hejira), and Lc style frame mountings. A lot of fella's on the American forums use them, as well as on Ypvs'. The downside is that it is about 20mm shorter than an Lc shock at 295mm. The upside is that they are cheap and plentifull on e-bay, and multi adjustable. The shock mounts are norrower than an Lc, so would need shimming, but I imagine if you used an R6 threaded fork mounting plate, you could make up the length difference quite easily. My Hejira swingarm was an inch longer than a standard Lc arm so I didn't have that issue. Here is the R6 shock in my frame; Worth doing a search on the Us forums . Regards Dusty

Hi, You are welcome. Another shock that I have used on my original 400e special was an Rgv250 with remote reservoir. Can't remember the length of the shock but I seem to remember it fitted fairly easily (it was 12 years ago now!!) It did make for a very firm ride though, probably too firm really, specially with the Tz seat unit; Sorry I don't have any better pics, nobody had digi cameras back then !! Dusty

hi, I fiited an SV650 shock to my hybrid, easy enough to fit. As for performance I can't really comment I don't really do enough miles. You can pick them up off ebay cheap enough so if it does not perform to your standards you havent really lost a great deal.
