Hi guys me again,
Can anyone shed some light on my running problems,
The bike will not rev over 7,000 on the road, it has standard airbox, 240 main jets, norbo's race pipes and runs on premix
any clues - oh I have not tried revving the bike not moving / no load
cheers
pj

Check the ignition timing, or even all the wires coming from your cdi

Its all a case of ....process of illimination
Jet sizes sound about right...but have you tried putting bigger mains in ?
If it aint fuelling then its more likely to be electrical

Not sure what motor you have but if it's a valve and you have had the power valves disconnected, it may pay you to try turning the power valves 180 degrees and trying it! It's possible to fit the wrong way around (I've done it ) and mine had similar symptoms If it isn't a valve motor then forget what I've just said

Cheers guys a bit more info for you,
I could not be arsed to rebuild my original engine, so I bought a refurbed engine from scott at resevoir cogs, this is the engine in now and is fine but wont rev, also noticed if I rev at a stand still - still will not rev over 7000, also after I rev it hard it then wont tickover evenly and dies if I try and rev fast again.
Also the loom coming from the flywheel side has been replaced at some time and all the wires are the same colour, I identified the neutral wire and fitted that to the switch, but can the other three wires go to any terminal in the block on the loom under the seat - or are they all different. when i put the engine in I assumed they could go to any terminal in the plug??
cheers
