Hello, this is my first email on this site but i can admit to reading and looking at the RD LC Crazy web site for a while now which has rekindled my old lc and 2 stroke spirit. I have just customised a TZR 250 and have now got hold of an LC which i have put in a RGV front and back end (i have lost interest with my streetfightered gsxr), this has gone in easily enough trimming down the original YPVS linkage. I have read in that the YPVS shock will need uprating and this has proved correct it is very soft, Does anyone have the spring rate for an RGV shock? Or if anyone has had a shock built for the same mod, who did it, how much did it cost etc? I could do with some help in this area to save perhaps alot of time and wedge.
cheers

Welcome pete.
There are 2 ways to do a RGV/LC you can weld a brack on the swinger and use a LC shock or mod the frame and use the RGV one . I have seen both and both seem to work very well. I cant realy help with any speck but as donk says Vin or KC may be able to help with more info .

Hi Peter and welcome mate The standard spring rate for an RGV is between 5.6Kg and 6.25kg depending on model I believe (but may pay you to check on the RGV forum ). It seems that for an average weight person a 7.1 Kg to a 8kg seems to be the the favored compromise as the standard spring was very soft for the average person! I have a progressive spring on mine as I was concerned about the distance between the lower rail and the banana arm but unfortunately I'm not at the stage of suspension set up with my project as yet so I cant give you much more info Hope this helps a little

Thanks guys, all helpful stuff., cheers Vin you seem on it with the weights. My lc has the same monshock arrangement as an F2 valve, (welded into the frame from an old bent to fcuk F2) therefore i have used the RGV Arm + tie bars all grafted onto the F2 linkage which has been milled down to cater for the width of the RGV tie bars. I have an old racing shock and i intend to get an uprated spring from demon tweeks just to set her up intially, then get maxton on one built Spend today welding the frame
