Hi guys, although i am the moderator for the group for my other bike, i have to firstly say how impressed i am with the help and banter that goes on between you, can't imagine you would get this sort of down to earth comradeship on an R1 site (sorry mallow!) i have decided to clean up my 1WT FII n keep it std, however, the frame seems to be painted in a very dark brown metallic paint, the state of it suggests that it is original, however i can imagine to get it powder coated in this color will cost a small fortune (something i don't have ), i would pref to do as on earlier bikes and paint it black,........ (cue fast show sketch)........ but would this be a heinous crime to the lord of restoration??? Also, the white (bike is white / red scheme) seems to have a pearlesant effect to it, is this the norm or has a previous owner been a shell suit wearer?? anyone found a good way of repairing fairing lugs? n what goes between the frame n the left n right fairing infill panels? Norbo, do you do a fairing screw kit? (this is what happens if you buy a bike with the panels removed!!) enough for now, no doubt there will be more Q's as i take more off Colin - Peterborough

loads of people paint the bikes frames mate...you can get a decent finish and its alot cheaper than powdercoating if you do it yourself...mellow fellow knows all them yam paint codes i think...i only know 1...dirty black brush on ...as for repairing the lugs...loadsa people say them plastic repair kits you can get make it possible if you are a little dextrous and willing to give it a try...i think norbo is doing them now... whats wrong with shell suits?...i thought they were back in ...thats what the bloke down the market told me ;D

My F2 is going to have black wheels and polished rims and maybe polished spokes. The paint job will be as above with maybe a blue metallic pearl or sparkle to the paint and I have an extra set of a plastics and I may these done in Flip Paint (red to a blue) with just the white decals on the bike. Got to have a play in Photoshop.

Guys, jus bringin the thread back for a mo, all respect due to all who ave contributed, but i stll conv that my frame (1WT) should be browny grey, i have since seen other machines with same colour (seems to be on black ones of the era) would insert pic, but cant see how to do it
my frame still has all manuf stickers on it, and the condition suggests that it is std.... can anyone help with the RAL no?
