bit confused........is this oil for pre-mixing for a 2-stroke or is it engine oil???

castrol A747 racing is the more modern version, smells the same but without all the probs you can have with castrol R, drop out, absorbs water etc.

wanna be on the safe side so am i right in saying mixing 40 to 1 ,would be 250ml to 10 litres of fuel,500ml to 20 litres fuel-- ? f**k me that seems a lot of mix to me but maybe not???

i was recomended by a RD racer to do 25ml of oil per litre of fuel, so 125ml to 5ltrs of fuel. thats how i do mine and it runs fine on castrol A747.

cheers m8 just mixed up 250ml of r40 to 10 litres fuel so that should be fine,same as yours.do u mix up a petrol station in the tank or at home?

at home in a jerry can, i also pour the oil into a measuring jug to get it spot on, then i pour some petrol into the jug and give it a good stir up, then pour that back into the jerry can and give it a good shake.

ive had people on bikes following me that comment on the smell at the next set of trafic lights. also get random car drivers come past on the ring road in the morning beeping there horns with there thumbs up, not sure if its because of the smell or because its an LC.

I can get A747 from work, but its a miniumum of 12 orders and its £15.11 a bottle (1 liter)

only get comments about the rgv when she's parked up! get my A747 from mick berill in northampton, he orders me as many bottles as i want, i usualy go for 2-3 at a time. pumps going back on over winter as i cant be arsed with the premix thing anymore.

so what's the script with changing over to 747 from your average 2stroke oil. Is it a complete clean-out of the engine like you have to do with R40 or can it just be put in after running the ordinary stuff (like shell 2t) empty?
