just doesnt line up as easy as i thought it would and dont really know what in doing anymore. The only way i can tell i can do it is by making some adapator plates which i can weld on to the frame then weld where the subframe frame comes down onto them, this wouldnt be to hard but i think it'll look horrible. So just stuck now what to do, buy a new frame and stick with a rd rear seat, buy a good condition RD and just swap the front and rear ends, stick them on my work Rd , which ever i do think its gonna have to wait now till feb/march next year due to money , Boooooooo! gonna play the lotto tonight lol

are you grafting the rgv subframe so you can fit an rgv seat unit? I tried this a couple of years ago but managed to make the seat unit fit using the original frame. Absolute nightmare to get sorted ....

tell yer what- once I'd got the seat unit fitted I was so unhappy with the look of it on my ypvs that i ended up chucking it in the bin! I thought it looked to wide compared to the yams slim tank. In the end I had a mould made to make me a single seat unit based on the yams original bodywork. I was much happier with how it turned out. Check it out in Norbos specials gallery- the ypvs with the yellow wheels and rubbish twin headlights (gonna change them soon!)

Ive actullay been thinking it looks too wide! mmmmmm!! Just looked at your bike , nice job and yeah love the seat unit!, The rgv ones not even gonna fit properly by the tank which im getting worried about too.. You dont have the mould still by any chance?

Yes mate, I do still have the mould. Its up in the roofspace gathering cobwebs! I've only had two seatunits made from it. if you're interested you gonna have to make some serious mods to your frameand a little one to your tank. the battery and oil tank on my bike are both under the rear hump. Its not that easy a job but the end result beats the rgv unit if you ask me. I could well be prepared to loanout the mould for a couple or three beers! Bargain mate considering it cost me nearly £400 to get made!!!!!

Mate thats a very kind offer and like nutters righty said im well pleased, but now thinking about it i really wouldnt know where to start and judging from my attempt today with the rgv unit its proberly a little (loads!) beyond me, especially having to mod the tank aswell *gulp* Id like too give it a go though a think as if i could do it the end feeling would be so much greter What exactly needs doing to the tank? If I did do it would you mind being a guru for when I get stuck ?

The mod to the tank really is a minor one. You would need to move the original r/h side panel mounting lug so it is level with the l/h lug. Obviously this will involve a bit of welding and is gonna knacker up your paintwork but maybe thats no problem if you are going for a new paintjob. Got no probs with helping you out if needs be. Don't think we are a million miles apart- I live in Redditch, Worcs. What type of tank have you got? Ideally it needs to be the later F2 but I reckon it would fit the earlier type without to much aggro.

Mate thats better than i could of wished I live in Tewkesbury proberly about 45 mins from redditch, which means i could pick the mould up sometime to save the risk of postage! Im not sure what F2 tank ive got, there's a pic of it under my project topic in the hybrid part of the forum if you can tell by just looking, like you said im gonna get a new paint job anyway so welding the tank really isnt a problem. Your a star mate and to think i was so close yesterday to just giving in! no way now Vinze a happy happy man! Just curious though when making the seat unit how do you stop the fibreglass sticking to the mould? Always wondered, also looking at the pic of your bike whats the raised panel bit on it right at the back where the rear of the passenger seat would be?

Not sure wht you mean about the raised bit...do you mean the padded bum stop? How the seatunit is made from the mould I ain't got a clue mate- it goes to the fibreglass laminators and they do the rest so if you borrow the mould you'll have to find someone with the knowhow. my units were made up in leicester by the same guy who made the mould. Dunno who it is cos it was all sorted through Nigel Kimber of NK racing. Had a look on your website earlier and your lc project is very close to what I'm doing at the moment. Only big difference is I'm usinga an aprilia rs250 swinger so I don't think you will get any probs with using my seatunit. let me know if you want the mould and we can get something sorted.......

Sorry Vinze- still can't figure out what you're seeing! All I can say is there is nothing silver on it and its as smooth as a babys bum!! The first unit cost me 400 quid but that included having the mould made so don't panic mate! The second cost about 150 and that included the seat and bumstop and a small mod to the finished item. I reckon you should be able to get one done for maybe £100? Its here when you're ready..........
