Took the LC to work this morning coz the battery was dead on the R6. Having followed a BOC gas bottle lorry for well over a mile, he pulls up coz we are on a narrow road and a car is coming towards him. I stopped a good few yards behind him when he slams his lorry into reverse and before I could take any avoiding action.....well the pic tells all. Norbo, expect a call as I need a pair of LC2 legs etc etc etc

Thanks guys. Luckily all I have is a bruised leg. I tried frantically to push myself backwards to get out of the way but he came back so quickly I bailed out when it touched the front wheel. Amazingly the headstock and frame is untouched and the clocks have survived but the clock bracket is bent. The right lower fork leg has actually snapped in half and the rear frame of the lorry went over the top of the front wheel. When he tried to pull forward to release the bike his nearside was being lifted of the ground enough so as to make the wheel spin on the tarmac. We had to put a plank under his tyre to get him off the bike. I'll get the insurance inspection out of the way and then when it's all decided I will get all the bits needed and she will live again, deffo thanks again chaps.

Hi gary, I was probably nearer 5 or 6 metres behind him before he startes reversing, but he literally dumped the clutch and shot back. Luckily for me there is a top bloke a couple of miles away from my works that has a company that checks and straightens frames etc so I'll get it to them before I embark on any rebuild just to make sure but I have had the tank off and a close look around the headstock area and there are no signs of any stress showing in the paintwork.

Mate, the sad thing is the driver probably doesn’t understand the true value of your bike and what he has done to this priceless classic Good job your ok though buddy and the only other thing I can say is good luck with the insurance company and good luck with the rebuild.

Gutted for you mate, I'm glad you're ok though and as you say the LC will ride again, good thing to have the frame crack tested if you can - they are getting a bit thin in places. Me and the missus went for a ride this morning on our push bikes and a fecking artic driver overtook as a van approached and almost knocked her off as he cut back in. She screamed but he drove off, we found him a mile away parked in a layby having his 45min break... she laid into him and he apologised but I bet he was racing to the layby to get to his bloomin' tacho break. Idiots.
