Hi i hastily bought a complete front tzr250 brake setup for my rd 250 lc. As my master cylinder is the wrong one and the caliper is the wrong side.
Now ive received the master cylinder i have realised that it doesnt fit the rd has its designed for dropped bars not flat.
Does anyone know if a standard 250 lc master cylinder will operate a single tzr250 caliper?
Does anyone have a standard master cylinder for a lc or want to swop / buy a tzr master cylinder?
Cheers.

RD250 Master is of 1/2" bore making it the "best" size for Lc350 twin disc Calipers (the 5/8" bore 350LC Master is Too Large for the twin caliper setup_( even tho OEM..) giving a decidedly 'dead' feel to the brakes. Go! Yamaha. Perhaps the stock 250lc one 'might' be correctly sized for your 'new' caliper? Perhaps a 11 or 12mm one might be best ? There are sizing / ratio charts floating about.. Search? for them.. to help make an educated guess as to what bore size is suitable. Why /how does it not fit ?

Ok il check to see what it says. Does the 1/2" refers to the size of the bore?
If you fitted the tzr one to the standard bar, the master cylinder wouldnt be horizontal as the bracket is designed for dropped bars (clip ons).

it states the following on the master cylinder
14 @ 1 k 4
@ is a symbol similar to the national speed limit sign.
Does that mean its a 14mm (i.e slightly bigger than 1/2")?
Does the comment above mean i should be ok to use the mastercylinder even if it sits at an angle when in use?

you can use the tzr master cylinder m8,it just needs to be level to fill with fluid and bleed, like ravedaddy says it should be level with the bike on the side stand and bars turned to left
