Use proper motorcycle fork oil. Fork oil capacity (per leg) 140 +/- 2.5cc (4.93 +/- 0.098 imp fl oz) Fork oil level (below top of stanchion) 195 +/- 5.5 mm (7.68 +/- 0.22 in) Hope this helps, Gav

Actually 'engine oil works "just Fine' Fork oil costs triple and in my experiences offers little to no actual advantage on these simple forks. They ain't Ohlins. Although I suggest 15/40 W as the LC pogo sticks err... forks , need a 15 w oil to work better... as well as a lot more spring preload, preferably stiffer springs, if the budget allows..

Bares right saying to be honest it probably doesn’t matter with the simple ‘pogo’ Lc shock! I always have been taught that fork oil has better anti-foaming properties than normal engine oil? Obviously if the fork oil starts ‘foaming’ the performance if the shock dampening is greatly reduced. As far as cost......Motorcycle fork oil £5 from halfords Just my view!

Cheaper then in your part of the world. Here in the wet coast of Canada fork oil is $17 a litre ( belray) and $28 / litre for HV1. Engine oil is $4 / litre.
