I was brased off shopping, so I went for a fag and to look at my lc. I shone a torch down the crank and noticed a pool of oil in the bottom of both crank cases. As oil is mixed with the fuel, there shouldn't be any oil...should there. I checked gearbox oil and it was still on full mark. The 2stroke oil feed pipes are still connected, but they wouldn't drip a pool full

Oil does accumulate in the bottom of the crankcase. Fuel evaporates and leaves the oil behind. Usually it burns off after a few mins of running... and is the reason (usually) why these smoke heavily when first stated after even an overnight layover.
