the guy I sold it to is flipping in in eBay This happened to me with a 350 LC I bought from Vic on here. Guy masqueraded as a private collector and then flipped it. I gave him a few of my thoughts about his character mainly rhyming with runt... Vic was a gent about it.

Wow there are some beautiful bikes on here & a great thread.
I need to somehow download old photos from a hard drive which is tricky now as the IT gestapo have blocked our USB ports - Americans of course..
Will see what I've got on here & contribute.

I tend to do rolling restos and get them riding and use them, then lastly strip down to do frame if needed. Just took these 2 down to frame this winter imported from Germany a few years ago, looks ok but it wasnt..... Complete with bodged frame. Unbelievably this lasted over 2 years before finally cracking I go for a clean but 'rider' finish this was off the road since I think 2005 and I understand stored half in a car port half outside! Had it riding after 2 weeks of derusting and unseizing carbs, brakes, clutch etc. Had good compression and engine was spotless inside. Used it all summer and then did the cosmetics just before christmas. Slightly heavier engine than an LC to manouvere in and out of the frame

Some awesome transformations, easy to forget the hours and hours of work involved, and amount of money that these bikes absorb.
You'd all be rich if you had a sensible hobby.

What I do love about this thread is that I remember the start of these projects as most were posted and we all were along for the ride I'll post some of mine when I get round to it...

I usually buy a bike by getting the just the frame first and then organising the rest of the parts, rarely do I buy a part-complete project let alone one thats all there... Sadly those boxes of junk and a rusty frame dont make for great before shots and few of my RD/RZs are what i call finished, tho the 251LC is very close now and the 421 has actually been finished twice already... er, lets no go there... I should photo those bikes tho as 'after' shots really as they are 99% done. I'd include my 'resto LC' in that as i thought was almost finished but when i pulled it out to fit the boywork I found that Ive got to do some rework due to 3 years of wet weather causing some corrosion on some of the alloy parts before i can call that done, so it'll be later in the year for that one... dont even get me started on the PVs lol, Ive been building my F1 for 15 years now I think... At least my website did tell their stories while it was up... sigh... ...but... for those who never saw my website, this is one of the finished ones from there... Its an exception to my usual rules on all counts, yet it isnt an RD/RZ. Ladies and gentlemen I give you; One ropey gumtree XT500... into my vision of my ultimate Supermoto! Back when i built this they were more exy to do than an LC, these days i think an LC is the one whos bills you'd hide from your significant other lol The sheer mass of cool aftermarket/other/new parts on this build didnt help that either. I do so love this bike tho... Its the size of a DT50 with 35bhp or so of pure grunt! I really do need to do some current LC/RZ pics...

I went on the JL website Matt. He still does LC exhausts but no side by side ones sadly.
