I guess we all bitch about it but today I noticed is was £2.05 a liter for Shell V-Power at the pump. I mean, really……!
So my two little fuel cans hold around 6 ltrs each give or take. Over £24 to fill 2 plastic cans - wtf! Both cans now empty after topping up the R1 and Mille R and we only went for a short spin yesterday.
Fuel is now a luxury commodity

I had just under 1/2 tank in my car, so ive filled up. It cost just short of £90 😲 I find myself travelling slower and using my right foot a little less. It does make a big difference, but boring.

The cost of fuel to the forecourt has gone down yet they still keep putting it up. Trouble is people won't stop buying it to force them to drop the price. So they have us by the googlies. The will to stand up and fight has been taken out of us over the years. Why actively go out and protest at the forecourts when you can post on Facebook about how horrid it all is, then get on with your day??

Not filled a bike but diesel is ridiculous
Filled my works Mondeo last week and it took £117 😳
Thank God I'm not paying
It will be getting worse for me though. The Mondeo engine management light came on on the way home Sunday night. Called the garage Monday, they said it would be a week till they could book it in but if I dropped it in they would at least try to do a diagnostic so they knew what to order
Called the lease company for a hire car to get dropped at the garage
Went to see what I'd got in the dodgy game of hire car roulette and was happy to find a BMW M4 😆
I'll soon find out how thirsty that is 😬

Put a full tank of super in my car in the middle of Spain the other week.
Once they’d deducted the government subsidy (a slightly more generous amount then in the UK of 20 cents a litre) it was just on €125. 😵💫
Last time I put that much fuel in anything it had Scania written on the front of it.

I knew we'd turned a point when the Tesco Pay-At-Pump maximum purchase of £99 no longer fills my car. That was about 3 months back now. I think it's gonna top £135 now.

I guess we all bitch about it but today I noticed is was £2.05 a liter for Shell V-Power at the pump. Can hardly get E5 round here never mind any super. Most stations only have diesel and E10 now. I'm paying £2.05 for E5 ( which they are now cheekily labeling as super ) and have to ride over 10 miles to get it. Went to the Farmyard this weekend and had to carry a gallon with me for the return trip top up just in case there was non at Malton..

I NEVER fill my car. It costs more in fuel to drive a car with a full tank than one that's half or even a quarter full. Why lug all that extra weight around for local use?

Funny that..... Listened to a neighbor complain that his RV (motorhome) cost ~ 250$ to fill up last June. Currently it was almost 800$ Cheaper to fly and stay at a decent Hotel.

I wouldn't suggest people go out of their way to do hypermiling but from the looks of it, the majority of folk I see have no thought of saving fuel and don't care how much fuel they use but winge about it. Not directing that at anyone here because I think on the whole, with our interest and generation comes a good amount of common sense. It is possible to employ a few techniques which are useful and things which people would do during a driving test anyway. Adjusting speed and looking ahead rather than ploughing up to the stopped vehicle ahead and braking. Not sitting in the car with the air con on texting etc. Plus, that annoys everyone around and happens by a school nearby every day but I suppose someone else pays the bill and they need to keep cool.
But regardless of what you can save by being sensible, it's still costing a lot run things. Just buying a gallon for the mower and trimmers seems mad when you see it rack up on the pump.
When was the last time you stopped dead on the price you wanted, it's roulette now 😂

Im in the process of joining Costco. They sell diesel and petrol with anywhere between 5 and 10p per letre less. Think its £33 for the year, so depends on your mileage. They do sell lots of other stuff as well. www.costco.co.uk/membership

Judging by the amount of traffic on the M3 last week no one is too bothered about the price of fuel in England.

Ten days ago E5 was euros €2.18 a litre (thats with the government 20 eurocent discount) in my local BP in southern Spain.
Just gassed it up again at euros €1.95.
With petrol seemingly going up daily in the uk I’ll ship the bike down and sit it out here.
