Hi all. I have stripped my 31k forks ready for rechroming, but there appears to be some part (or parts) still in the bottom of the stanchion. Whatever it is doesn't appear on the parts diagram. It seems to turn quite easily but won't come out. I don't want to use any force until I know what I'm dealing with. Looks to be made of alloy so no doubt the chroming baths would destroy it. Any advice welcome. Thanks in advance.

Just leave them in, whoever does the rechroming knows what to do. Got mine done by Dynasurf & they were perfect

It's the shuttle bush that's still in it
The end of the stanchion is rolled inward to hold it in
If rechromed they leave it in place
If they make you new stanchions the remove them and refit in the new ones
